I love Knuffle Bunny, and I love the Pigeon, and I adored you when I heard you speak once at BEA and we all drew Pigeons on our napkins. All that love, though, pales in comparison to my enthusiasm for Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed. It’s SO WONDERFUL. I love the cleverness of it, and it’s one of those ideas that’s so perfectly simple and astonishing that I wonder why nobody thought of it before, and yet I’m not surprised it was you who finally did it. You’ve taken the always-entertaining route of switching a routine thing on its head entirely, to the delight of everyone–a technique I loved in Rosenthal and Corace’s Little Hoot and was thrilled to see coming up again in this book. The art, as always, is fantastic, and I really like the trim size of the book, though who knows if that was your particular choice or if it was a designer’s brilliant doing. At any rate, it works really well in that long, landscape format. Hooray, five stars!
