Your book The Wicked Truth lured me in with the promise of an academic analysis of one of my favorite musicals–unfortunately, I’m not exactly sure that’s what I got out of it. Yes, it was an academic exercise, and yes, it did analyze Wicked, but It didn’t go in any direction that I found useful or interesting. I think what I got tripped up on were some organizational difficulties, and some design flaws (like having huge sections of unrelated text stuck in the middle of the flow of a chapter). The ideas were sound, but I’m not sure they actually needed to be proven. Three stars for this one.
