Ok…you’re getting four stars for Castration Celebration, but I didn’t actually like it. It was well-written, objectively, and you have undeniable insight into seventeen-year-olds. But seventeen wasn’t a year (or a state of mind) that I had any desire to be reminded of, as a 26-year-old. I think it’s likely that this book will appeal strongly to actual teens, particularly the theater and music geeks, but it didn’t do anything for me. I found it slightly sexist at times, too, but the kind of sexist where you’re a teenager and you’re just really discovering the wonders of whichever sex attracts you, and you don’t quite know any better. Remember those days?
