Dear Stephen Schwartz and Leonard B. Lubin,

The Perfect PeachThe Perfect Peach has a very outdated feel to it, but in that nice way that makes me love looking at books I read as a child.  Except this isn’t one I read as a child–it was a recent gift from my mother.  It was published originally in 1977, as far as I can tell, and I can definitely see it in the illustrations and in the text–not a bad thing, but the dated feeling of it does overpower the story a little.  Though, with so many wonderful musicals to your name, Mr. Schwartz,  it’s no wonder your text (all in verse) is so charming and whimsical.  Four stars!

Love,

apple
